Saturday, May 7, 2022 was the celebration for the 40th Anniversary of the Bankhead Amateur Radio Club. We held the May club meeting, hosted a great BBQ lunch, and members operated a Special Event station. Roger Parsons, ARRL Section Manager and Patrick Nagle, Alabama District E Emergency Coordinator, represented the ARRL. Club officers gave 40th anniversary challenge coins to attendees and everyone signed a poster commemorating the event. Plaques honoring the club Founders and the support of the Lawrence County Emergency Management Agency were presented. Ed Weatherford received a commemorative gavel recognizing his leadership (along with a copy for everyday use). Thanks to everyone who participated and shared memories and fellowship on this special day.
